Lauren's Obituary
Lauren Totzke, 47, Baroda, died at her home Saturday January 3, 2004, with her family at her side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, at Zion United Church of Christ, 9105 Third St., Baroda; officiating will be Rev. Dr. Christopher Noffke. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00- 8:00 PM, Monday, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Memorial may be made to Berrien County Youth Fair or Zion United Church of Christ where she was actively involved. Lauren was born April 7 1956, to Loren & Elaine (O? Leary) Cole in St. Joseph. She married Ned Totzke on December 16, 1972, at Zion UCC, in Baroda.
She loved being a farmer?s wife and was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Family was the heart and soul of her life. She also opened her heart to many other children including nieces and nephews and many friends of her children. She loved to garden and one of her favorite pastimes was bird watching. In addition to managing a home and a business, she found time to maintain her families history though photos, video, newspaper clippings and many personal letters. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Lauren is survived by her husband Ned of Baroda, two sons, Brett (Krista) Totzke of Baroda, Brian Totzke of Stevensville, a daughter Brooke Totzke of Berrien Springs; one granddaughter Emma Totzke; four sisters, Jeannine Marks of St. Joseph, Marion (Bill) Gathright of Baroda, Amanda (Bill) Bammann of Stevensville and Leslie Nelson of Stevensville.
