James A. Parce

James Allen Parce, 54, of Watervliet, MI, passed away at his home on Monday, October 27, 2003. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2003, 11:00AM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery, St. Joseph, MI. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5:00-8:00PM, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Army, and a member of the VFW Post 6803 in Watervliet. His current employ was at Greg Orchards & Produce in Millburg. Jim was formerly employed at Schroeder Motors in Benton Harbor. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandpa Whitey. His family meant the world to him. He was an all around clown; if he couldn?t make people laugh the first time, he wouldn?t stop trying until he succeeded. Jim loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping up in the U.P. every summer. Motorcycling in his younger days with his brother-in-law Ron, was a big part of his life. Now he was a big NASCAR fan. He figured this way he could still be a part of something he loved, and not get any broken bones in the process. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, family, and everyone that his life has touched. Jim is survived by his wife Mary, whom he married August 27, 1988; a daughter, Megan Parce of Grand Rapids; a son, T.J. Parce of Holt, MI; his little scooter bug Brittany Rosenthal; brothers, Robert (Sue) Parce of Canton, MI, Mickey Parce of Benton Harbor, Timothy Parce of Stevensville, Roger (Adrianne) Parce of Sister Lakes, Richard Parce of Kalamazoo and Steven Parce of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Sue (Ron) Schulz of Berrien Springs, Kathy Parce of Benton Harbor and Diane (Jim) Rushlow of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Devin & Jaden Ferguson of Grand Rapids and Tyler Parce of Holt; and many loved and special nieces and nephews, Karri, Christi, Scott, Tina, Becky, Debbie, Kim, Tracy, Amber, Brett, Pete, Bryan, Andy, Jason, Clay, Becky, Kellie, Dawn, Logan, Caleb, Amanda and Jarrod. His parents preceded him in death.
