Louie J. Barta Jr. 63, of Galien, MI passed away at his home on Friday July 2, 2004 Friends may call from 1:00 ? 7:00 PM Tuesday at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, officered by Rev. Randy Doyle. Burial will be at Galien Twp Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Tippy memorial fund to get him neutered. Friends wishing to send condolence may do so at the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com. He was born on March 10, 1941 in Chicago, IL, to Alois & Vlasta (Pliml) Barta. During his life he worked as an Iron work constructing the tall buildings in Chicago, he was known as ?Downtown Louie? or ?The High Guy? because he was one of the few that would work on the skyscrapers. He was a man with a heart as big as all outdoors and a very giving person who would give you his shirt of his back. He loved being out door and said that nature was his god. Survived by his son Michael (Tina) Barta of Newton WI, a granddaughter Christine two Step grandchildren Beth and Abby ; his mother Vlasta Barta of Wausau, a sister Barbara Newton of Wausau, Niece Kim (Michael ) Meyer of Great Lakes IL and Nephew Christopher (Becky) Antiporek of Wausau WI
