William H. Kuschel

William H. Kuschel, 73, of Stevensville, passed away at Lakeland Hospital, St, Joseph, on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 11:00AM, at the Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd., Stevensville, with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, from 5:00-8:00PM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stevensville United Methodist Church or to the Box Factory, St. Joseph. Friends wishing to leave a message of condolence, or to sign the family guest book, may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com William was born on June 18, 1930, in Benton Harbor, MI, to William and Florence (Hudson) Kuschel. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1948, and thereafter attended Valparaiso University. On February 18, 1951, in Pompano, FL, he married Nelda Jean Rosenberg. William formerly owned and operated Kuschel Real Estate and Insurance Agency; and then for app. 20 years worked at Hal?s Clothier in Benton Harbor, retiring in 1990 as manager of the shop. He was very active in the Stevensville United Methodist Church, and with the Box Factory in St. Joseph. William enjoyed woodworking, and crafted many art pieces. He is survived by his wife Nelda Jean; a daughter, Carole (Ernie) Linton of Casper, WY; two sons, Todd (Missy) Kuschel of Mahtomdie, MN and Brad (Laurie) Kuschel of Plainfield, IL; his mother, Florence Kuschel of Coral Springs, FL; eleven grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Carol) Kuschel of Coral Springs, FL; and two sisters, Mary Anne (Robert) Rhodes of Venice, FL and Paula (Corbin) Davis of Lansing, MI. William is preceded in death by his father, a daughter-Darcie Erb, and a granddaughter Amanda Linton.
