Jerry Sotnyk

Jerry Sotnyk, 62, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 66325 M-152, Sister Lakes, with Rev. David Schaller officiating. Cremation with burial of ashes will follow the service at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was employed by Whirlpool in St. Joseph for many years. Jerry retired from Wolverine Metal Stamping Inc. of St. Joseph as a tool & die maker. On June 30, 1961 he married the former Beverly Gearing in Coloma. She preceded him in death on September 19, 1994. On October 7, 1996, he married the former Charlotte Bates in Sister Lakes. Jerry was a member of Reedemer Lutheran Church in Sister Lakes. Jerry is survived by his wife Charlotte; two sons-Wally (Chris) Sotnyk of New Baden, IL, Andy (Angela) Sotnyk of Inver Grove Heights, MN; step-son-Charles (Connie) Wittorp of Sister Lakes; two step-daughters-Melody (Mark) Wildeman of Gaylord, MI, April (Tom) Fox of Niles, MI; & seventeen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Beverly and his mother Olga Sotnyk.
