Elsie's Obituary

Elsie Terry, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away at Caretel Inns of Royalton, Sunday, October 5, 2003. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2003, 11:30AM, at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dr. Kent Meyer officiating. Final resting place is at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:30-11:30AM, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ. Friends wishing to leave a message of condolence, or to sign the family guest book, may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Mrs. Terry was born July 10, 1914, in St. Joseph, to Gustave and Meta (Block) Fetke. On July 19, 1936, she married Luke Terry. Mrs. Terry was a beautician for eight years at Larita Ray Beauty Shop, and a secretary for twenty-eight years at Kerley & Starks Funeral Home. She was a member and major contributor of the Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, St. Joseph; a member of the Ladies Fellowship at the church; a charter member of the Emblem Club; a volunteer with the Women?s Auxiliary at Memorial Hospital; and was a generous donator to many worthwhile causes. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Gottlieb-Hart of Homestead, FL; three grandchildren, Cynthia Zbacnik, Rebecca and Naomi Gottlieb; and two great grandchildren, Beth and Amanda Cauffman. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, and five sisters.
