Darrell D. ?Butch? Albright, 60, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He fought a short, courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter?s United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. Butch graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1961. For the last 8 years he was employed as a truck driver for Industrial Pattern Works in Benton Harbor. Butch was an avid Detroit Lions and NASCAR fan and loved playing backgammon. Mr. Albright is survived by his son-Darrell (Liz) Albright II of St. Joseph; his daughter-Audra (Dave) Springsteen of Dowagiac; five grandchildren-Tyler, Jake, & Josh Albright, & Jillian & Amanda Springsteen; his mother-Lucille Albright of St. Joseph; his sister & caregiver-Lonna (John) Salnoske of Benton Harbor; a special niece & caregiver-Kimra (Lee) Myers of Stevensville and best friend Mark McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his father Albert Albright, January 7, 1992.
