Frank Levay

Frank Levay, Jr., 81, of Benton Harbor passed away on Tuesday morning , April 27, 2004, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Frank was born to Frank, Sr. and Victoria (Karnavorui) Levay on June 7, 1922 in Graig, New York. He married Dorsie Whitaker on July 22, 1944 in El Paso, Texas. He was a medic in the army from 1942-1946 during WWII, he then became a crane operator for Superior Steel for many years before he retired. Frank enjoyed listening to the CB. His CB handle was ?Fairplain.? Frank is survived by his wife Dorsie; children, Richard (Janet Marie) Levay, Ronald (Lynn) Levay, and Robert (Kathy) Levay all of Grand Rapids, also Joan (Bill) Adcox of Lexington, Oklahoma and Janet Weatherman of Stevensville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian Levay, Suki Vande Sweden, James Levay, Heather Levay, Brandon Levay, Christopher Levay, Jacquelyn Weatherman, Joseph Weatherman, David Weatherman, Julia Levay, Jonathon Levay, Charles Jaent, Michelle Jaent, and Nicole Ryan, his great grandchildren- Lauren Teliczan and Matthew McGuire, and his niece, Gloria Brogan of North Hollywood, California. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Grace Moo; and his niece Elaine. There will be a memorial service for Frank at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, or the donor?s favorite charity. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Ave., St. Joseph.
