Frank Damico

Frank Damico, 99, of Benton Harbor, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, November 19, 2003. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 22, at St. John?s Catholic Church, 600 Columbus, Benton Harbor, with Father Bill Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 3-5P.M. and 7-9P.M., Friday, November 21, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30P.M. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Memorials may be made to St. John?s-St. Bernard?s Parish or Lakeland Home Care. Friends wishing to leave a message of condolence, or to sign the family guest book, may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Mr. Damico was born April 16, 1904, in Chicago, the son of Philip and Loretta (Guezzeta) Damico. Frank was united in marriage to Anna Anzalone on November 19, 1935, at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church in Chicago. After moving to Benton Harbor, Frank operated a fruit farm for most of his life and was a member of Farm Bureau and the Welsh Grape Co-Op. He was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church and an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. Frank served for many years as President of the American-Italian Volunteer Club. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters ? Loretta Krieger of Benton Harbor, Sara Hassle (Fritz) of Coloma, Barbara O?Rourke (Patrick) of New Castle, CA; and Rosalie Wright, of Kalamazoo; his son Philip Frank (Patricia) Damico of Benton Harbor; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna, January 11, 1997; three sisters ? Libby Panno and Jenny Humes and Mamie Damico; two brothers ? Tony, and Joseph; a grandchild – Loretta Ann Krieger; and a son-in-law- E. Earl Wright.
