Lincoln's Obituary
Lincoln M. Larkin, 88, of Benton Harbor, passed away at his
home, on Thursday, September 11, 2003. A Celebration of
Life Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, at 10:00AM,
at the First Congegrational United Church of Christ, 2001
Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Dr. Bob Bramen officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph, MI.
Friends may call on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 3:00-6:00PM, at
Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd.,
St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice

Mr. Larkin was born on June 5, 1915, in Hastings, Nebraska,
to Lester Underwood and Ethel Jean (McConnell) Larkin. He
married Marion Stiles on June 27, 1940 in Evanston, IL.
Marion preceded him in death on August 19, 1993. He had
worked at Seeger Corp. in Evansville, IN, for 20 years; he
then joined Whirlpool Corp., and retired in 1978 as General
Manager in the Commercial Refrigeration Department. Mr.
Larkin attended Georgia Tech University in Atlanta; he was a
32nd degree Mason; and was very active in the Berrien
County Republican Party. His hobby was building scale
models of various buildings, one which was of the North Pier
Lighthouse.
He is survived by two sons, J. Stephen (Kathryn
Westin-Larkin) Larkin of Alexandria, VA, and Andrew J.
(Sharon Slosson-Larkin) Larkin of Novi, MI; a daughter,
Linda (Curtis) Laetz of Shorewood, WI; seven grandchildren,
Sarah (Wade) Laetz-Mahon, Benjamin C. Laetz, Jessica
Larkin, Peter Larkin, Christine L. Larkin, Aaron M. Larkin
and Gwendolyn L. Larkin; and two great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife Marion, grand
daughter Eleanor Laetz (1979), and a sister Susanna
Nottingham (1995).
