Carolyn H. Griffendorf

Carolyn H. Griffendorf, 89, formerly of St. Joseph, died at Woodland Terrace, Friday, October 31, 2003. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00A.M., Monday, November 3, 2003 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Russell Baker officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ of Benton Harbor or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Mrs. Griffendorf was born on October 5, 1914 in Benton Harbor to Carl and Martha (Wagner) Salnoske. She married Jack Griffendorf in Hartford in 1940. He precedes her in death. Carolyn worked for 39 years as a legal secretary for Attorney John Globensky at the law firm Gray, Globensky & Gleiss. She was a longtime member of the Women?s Service League Carolyn is survived by her daughter Jill (Joe) Hempstead of Grand Rapids; grandchildren ? Kim Hempstead of Grand Rapids, and Greg (Sarah) Hempstead of Indianapolis, IN; sister ? Dorothy Mays of Benton Harbor; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her brothers and sisters ? Hedwig Nimtz, Martha Bodjack, Agnes Kash, Carlton Salnoske and Francis Salnoske.
