Violet C. Mccord

Violet C. McCord, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday night, March 17, 2004, at Lakeland Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Jim Coffman officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Area Agency on Aging Region. She married John Thomas McCord in Caruthersville, Missouri on November 23, 1933. He later preceded her in death in1974. Violet worked at Auto Specialties until her retirement in 1975. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was deeply loved in return. She will be deeply missed by her children, John (Judy) McCord, Gary (Edna) McCord, Ronald (Diane) McCord, Patricia (James) Ziems, Carolyn McCord, and Jimmy (Margie) McCord. Violet is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by, her husband John, her daughter Barbara McCord, and her grandsons, Gary McCord and Jimmy McCord.
