Darlene's Obituary

Darlene Tragna, 77, of Benton Harbor, Died Sunday August 10, 2003 at home, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, August 13, with Rev. Ronald Freier officiating, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8pm on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Darlene was born to Harry and Adeline (Nordhausen) Voudry on December 10, 1925, in Elmhurst, IL. She moved to this area when she married Willard Williams. Willard passed away in 1965. She later married John Tragna, whom she shared many wonderful times with. John passed away in 1991. She worked many years at V.M., until it?s closing. Darlene then went to work & retired from Kaywood. Anyone who knew Darlene knew she was an avid Cubs fan. On any given day that the Cubs were playing Darlene would be in her chair with her remote watching the Cubs. Mark Grace was her hero and her heart was broken the day he was traded. She lived for the day to come that the Cubs would win the World Series. In her passing, the Cubs have lost one of their greatest fans. Darlene volunteered many hours of her time at the VFW 1137, where she leaves a number of friends. She loved and enjoyed her home and the neighbors. They all became special friends & shared their families with her. Darlene was a very dedicated, private, brave, loyal lady. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, & very devoted friend. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her son Robert (Diana) Williams, of Benton Harbor; daughter-in-law Vicki (Ron) Williams, of NC; granddaughters ? Michele Collins, of Benton Harbor, Brandi (Sherafin) Perez of North Carolina, Michelle Perry, Nebraska, grandsons ? Jeffery Williams, of Detroit, Michael Collins, of Watervliet, and Manny Hernandez, of Nebraska; great-grandchildren ? Grant and Sherafin Perez, of North Carolina, and Crystal and Courtney Collins, of Watervliet. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Beverly Konecny, son Ronald Williams & grandson John Franks, Jr.
