Olive's Obituary

Olive Jean Boone formerly of Benton Harbor, went to meet her Lord & Savior Monday, May 10, 2004 at Whitcomb Towers where she resided. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Ct., St. Joseph with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Entombment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Boone was born February 24, 1921 in Washington, Indiana to Curtis & Oneita (Giltner) Wise. She lived most of her life as a resident of Benton Harbor, moving to the Whitcomb Towers in August of 2003. Jean was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Joseph. She loved to travel and toured The Holy Land, Europe, and Thailand with a group from the church. Jean was a volunteer at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, and a docent at The Morton House in Benton Harbor. On September 28, 1974, she married Willie C. Boone in Benton Harbor. Jean loved her family, her church, & her friends. Mrs. Boone is survived by two daughters-Marjorie (Ron) Lake of Boise, Idaho; Janet (Mike) Cooper of Mattawan, MI; a son-Steven (Lisa) Graafsma of Boise, Idaho; step children-James (Barb) Boone, Phyllis Litke, both of Florida; Cheryl Nitz of Stevensville; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers-Charles (Jean) Wise & Richard (Helen) Wise, both of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Willie on September 21, 1990.
