Harrison J. Reid

Harrison J. Reid, 85, of Stevensville, passed away at Caretel Inns, on Monday, August 4, 2003. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, at 11:30AM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Stanford Parnell officiating. Family and friends are invited to Tosi?s Restaurant following the service, for food and fellowship with the family. Private family burial will be at a later date at Lincoln Township Cemetery, Stevensville. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 6, from 7:00-9:00PM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. He married Rita Grace Joyce on September 28, 1940 in Chicago. Mr. Reid had owned and operated Reid Products Inc., in Stevensville. He was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron, and a former member of the St. Joseph Yacht Club. Mr. Reid loved Lake Michigan and was an avid yachtsman. He is survived by his wife, Rita of Stevensville; a son, Thomas James (Michele) Reid, II of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Renee and Jeffrey Parnell of Stevensville, and Kristina (Matthew) Ungs of Loves Park, Il; great grandchildren, Ashley and Amy Parnell, and Trevor James Costello; brother-in-law, Earl (Norene) Joyce of Burbank, Il; and nephews, Earl, Jr., Pat, Mike, John and Joe Joyce. His parents precede him in death.
