Georgia's Obituary
Georgia Ann (Hoffman) Stuckey, 83, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior on Monday, September 29, 2003 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call beginning at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God of which she was a member. Mrs. Stuckey was born February 22, 1920 in St. Joseph. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, and attended Anderson College in Anderson, IN. On July 5, 1942, Georgia married Lloyd Deane Stuckey in St. Joseph. Georgia graduated from Indiana Central College in Indianapolis with a Masters degree in Education in 1969. She taught school in the Commonwealth of Virginia for several years before moving back to St. Joseph after her husband?s retirement in 1979.
Georgia was a member of the Virginia Educational Association and the Virginia League of Women Voters. She was active in the Berrien County Association of Churches and served on the Executive Board of that organization at various times during the past years. Georgia was a former Sunday School superintendent and a member of the choir at the First Church of God.
Georgia was the last remaining of seven brothers and sisters of the Rudolph and Henrietta Hoffman Family of St. Joseph. Survivors include her husband of more than 60 years-Deane; and three sons-James (Carol) Stuckey of Buchanan, Paul of St. Joseph, and John of Pendleton, IN.
