Wanda's Obituary

Wanda Huff Easley, of Benton Harbor, ran into the arms of the Lord on Friday, August 29th, 2003 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI. Wanda was born October 20th, 1933 to John and Geneva (Hallmark) Eddings, in Etowa, Arkansas. After the death of her mother, her father married Joyce Lawson who loved her as her own. Wanda married Dwane Huff on March 31, 1951. They had 7 children. After the death of her husband in 1963, she married Claude W. Easley on August 19, 1972. Claude had 5 children, providing Wanda with more children to share her love with. Wanda loved to cook for friends and family, she always had enough for whoever would drop by. She made the best biscuits and gravy in the world! For the past six years Wanda was a cook for the House of David, she also was a health care provider for Health Care at home, where she cared lovingly for her patients. She also worked for the City of David Rest Home. Wanda was always involved in church. She was a member for many years at Bethel Tabernacle in Benton Harbor. She sang, played the piano and accordion, and taught Sunday school. Up until her death, she was a member of Living Stones Church of God, Benton Harbor. Wanda made her share of peanut brittle for church bazaars. She is survived by her husband Claude, of Benton Harbor, and her sister Betty Beilman of Tucson, AZ.; Wanda?s pride and joy was her children. All 11 of them! Easley Jr., Dowagiac, MI, Linda (Steve) Zielke, Dowagiac, MI Keith (Nancy) Huff, Coloma, MI, Laura Cummings, Benton Harbor, MI Valerie (James) Zubik, Riverton, WY; She also had 39 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, John Eddings, mothers Geneva and Joyce Eddings, daughter Patricia Nelson and grandson James Chevrette Jr. Wanda will be missed by all her family, friends, pastors and all the lives she touched. Memorials may be made to the family. A special thank you to all her caregivers, Lakeland CCU, L-Tech in Berrien Springs and her physicians. A very special thanks you to Dr. Allen for all his loving and tender care for her. It will not be forgotten. ?Her children arise and called her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her.? Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 4th, at 1:00 pm at First Assembly of God, 3084 Niles Rd, St. Joseph, burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores.
