Nora Annie Vee Scherer

Nora Annie Vee (Twyford) Scherer, 73, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at home among family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Friends may call beginning 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Scherer was the only child of Noah Elmer and Allie Mae (Aklin) Twyford, born November 7, 1930 in Russell, Arkansas. On October 20, 1946 she married Leslie J. Scherer in Russell, Arkansas. Annie was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She loved to read before her eyesight failed. She dearly loved to fish on Lake Michigan with her husband in their boat ?Runnin Bare?. Annie could bait a hook by feel and out fish any of her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Annie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years-Leslie; four sons-David L. (Sharon) Scherer of St. Joseph, Dennis L. (Diane) Scherer of Aiken, SC, Richard K. Scherer of St. Joseph, Kevin R. Scherer of St. Joseph; six grandchildren-Shelly (Kevin) Langston of St. Joseph, Dennis Scherer, Jr. of Columbia, SC, Bryan (Toni) Scherer of Livonia, MI, Jesse Scherer, Rachel Scherer, and Scott Scherer-all of Augusta, GA; and one great-grandson-Drew Langston of St. Joseph. Annie was preceded in death by her mother Allie in 1957 and her father Noah in 1996.
