Arthur's Obituary

Arthur Duschek, 74, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2003 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Cremation will follow the service with burial of ashes at Spring Run Cemetery in Scottdale. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Scottdale United Methodist Church. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Art was born June 6, 1929 in St. Joseph to Rudolph & Elizabeth (Ablen) Duschek. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Art was employed by Royalton Township from 1976-1994 as cemetery & parks superintendent. Art was a former member of the Tri-Unit Fire Department where he served as the first assistant chief, and a life member of Stevensville American Legion #568. Art is survived by three brothers-Rudolph (Dorothy) Duschek of St. Joseph, Raymond (Juanita) Duschek of Baroda, Walter (Connie) Duschek of Berrien Springs, four sisters-Alice (Gene) Clem of Jackson, MI, Erma Hennes of St. Joseph, Dorothy (Glenn) Schwolow of Berwyn, IL, Arlene Wolter of Stevensville; and many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brother a Bernie Duschek, and a sister Jeanette Lynch.
