Barbara Jean (Garrison) Thar, 55, of St. Joseph, passed away at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, Monday, August 4, due to complications of Lupus. She attended St. Joseph High School and was a life long resident of Berrien County. She worked at several restaurants in the area until becoming disabled in 1980. Survivors include her mother Josephine Garrison of St. Joseph, her brother Robert M. Garrison of Stevensville; her sister Helyn (Butch) Ott of Bridgman; sister Roxanne Merlineo of St. Joseph; brother Mark (Debra) Garrison of Benton harbor; sister Sheri Garrison of San Jose, CA; daughter Tamara Jo Thar, of Berrien Springs; three grandchildren ? Lacey Nichole, Brittany Nichole, and Jordan Nicholas; her lifelong partner T. Doug Reves; and several nieces and a nephew. Her father Harold R. Garrison preceded her in death in 1995.
