Orphia Lou Kelley, 81, of Watervliet, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Lakeland Hospital-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Entombment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call beginning at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Auxiliary of Community Hospital-Watervliet. Orphia Lou was born on January 23, 1922 in Walcott, Arkansas to Noah & Melvina (Tucker) Willis. On March 2, 1940 she married William Edgar Kelley in Manila, Arkansas. She was employed by Heath Co. of St. Joseph before retiring in 1981. Orphia Lou was a member of Moose Lodge #1570 of Benton Harbor. She and her husband loved ballroom dancing. They won many awards & trophies over the years. Mrs. Kelley is survived by one sister-Rosa Mauk of Lilbourn, Missouri; three sister-in-laws-Laurine Butts of Spartanburg, SC; Geraldine Stowers of Coloma; Jane Irvin of Coloma; and many nieces & nephews including Priscilla Kelley of Watervliet. Orhpia Lou was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and by her husband William Edgar Kelley in June 1979.
