Helen A. Kunst

Helen Kunst, 88, of Benton Harbor, passed away at her home on Friday, Feb. 6, 2004. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, February 14, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1927 Broadway, Benton Harbor, with Rev. Paul Naumann officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In June of 1931 she married Edward Kunst in Benton Harbor. Helen owned & operated Helene?s Beauty Salon in Benton Harbor for over 60 years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the D.A.N.K. Helen loved bowling, cooking, & gardening. Mrs. Kunst is survived by her daughter Dorothy Wolf of Lago Vista, TX; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-Alfreida (Leo) Streick of Orinda, CA; and a brother-Wilfred Schmidt of Moline, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward in July of 1981; her son Robert Kunst in August of 1988; three brothers-Ewalt, Albert & Henry Schmidt; and a sister-Margaret Schmidt.
