C.'s Obituary

C. Raymond Clark, 86, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at his residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 11:30AM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Father Larry Kroll officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30AM till time of service at 11:30AM. Mr. Clark?s final resting place will be at Woodland Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home. Raymond was born on September 22, 1916, in Wilkes Barre, PA, to Michael and Elizabeth (Cutter) Clark. He served his country with the United States Marines. On June 27, 1938, in Elkhart, IN, he married Isabel June VanDriel. She preceded him in death on November 27, 1985. Raymond was owner/operator of the Ray Clark Ford automobile dealership, both in Benton Harbor and Berrien Springs. Mr. Clark was a member of the Rotary Club. He also attended St. John?s and St. Joseph Catholic Church?s. As a hobby, Raymond loved to customize rifles and gun stocks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Another passion was following his favorite college football team???Notre Dame. His family also remembers him as being a wine connoisseur. Raymond was much loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his daughter, Marcia (Mark) Schnese of Phoenix, Arizona; three sons, Terry Clark of Naperville, IL, Ron (Kathy) Clark of Brighton, MI, and Greg (Nancy) Clark of St. Joseph; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and a brother Don (Carol) Clark of Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded by his parents, wife, and three sisters-Faye, Kathleen and Betty.
