Doris J. Anderson

Doris’ life began on July 13, 1923 in Moorland Township, MI the daughter of John Leslie and Ione (Wood) Frantz. She was united in marriage to Leon C. Anderson on October 10, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI. They would have celebrated 70 years together this year. Doris and her husband, Leon, owned and operated Dowagiac Stationers. She was a state Mom for the Arkansas DeMolay. Doris was very active in the Methodist Women’s, helping to set up the craft shop. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Most important of all, Doris was a good wife, mother and grandmother. Her loving family includes her husband, Leon C. Anderson; son, Andy Anderson of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Timothy A. (Casey) Anderson, Joshua (Mary) Anderson, Dale (Stephanie) Anderson; great grandchildren, Julia Robinson, Victoria Anderson, Amelia Anderson; brothers, Marion and Robert Frantz and sister-in-law, Mrs. Larry (Jan) Frantz. Doris passed away on August 20, 2012 at the Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Earl, Allen and Larry Frantz; sisters, Lorraine Frantz and Virginia Weber.A private burial will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery.
