Jay's Obituary
Jay ?Dick? Clark, 69, of Benton Harbor, passed away Sunday,
April 27, 2003, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at Noon Thursday at St.
Bernard?s Catholic Church, 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor,
with Fr. Larry Kroll officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary
Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may call on Wednesday
from 5-8 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home,
2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Elks Rites recited at 6:45
P.M. & Liturgical Prayers recited at 7:00 P.M. Memorials
may be made to Jordan?s Nursing Home, Bridgman. Those

Jay was born on May 4, 1933 in St. Joseph to Wesley & Elna
(Wenzlaff) Clark. Jay was member of the St. Joseph High
School Basketball Team and graduated in 1951, the year St.
Joseph earned the State Championship. On September 17,
1952, he married the former Barbara Ober in St. Joseph. Jay
retired from Whirlpool St. Joseph Division in 1988 after 41
years of employment. After retirement, Jay worked part-time
for Culby?s in Benton Harbor. He was a member of Benton
Harbor Elks #544 where he served as the Exalted Ruler for
two years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus
where he held many offices. Jay was an avid golfer, enjoyed
wintering in Florida, and especially enjoyed following his
grandchildren?s many activities.
Jay is survived by his wife Barbara of Benton Harbor; his son
David (Debby) Clark of St. Joseph; four daughters-Debbie
(Timm) Culby of Benton Harbor, Denise Eidam of St. Joseph,
Deanna (Mike) Lowery of Stevensville, Donna (Michael)
Vishoot of Round Lake Beach, IL; nine grandchildren-Eric &
Lisa Culby, Scott & Christopher Clark, Jason Eidam, Kristin
& Alan Lowery, Caitlin & Brendan Vishoot; and his mother
Elna Clark of Bridgman.
