John's Obituary
John Robert Grinley, 82, of Benton Harbor, passed away at
Orchard Grove Extended Care Centre, on Saturday, August 9,
2003. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on
Wednesday, August 13, at 10:30AM, at Starks & Menchinger
Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev.
Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore
Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI. Friends may call on Tuesday,
August 12, from 5:00-9:00PM, at the funeral home. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor?s
favorite charity or organization. Those wishing to leave a

Mr. Grinley was born on September 21, 1920, in Rockville,
IN, to John and Renabell (Bartley) Grinley. He married
Adeline Price on June14, 1952, in Benton Harbor. John was a
retired truck driver of 40 years with Gleason & Sons and
Signal Delivery Service.
He is survived by his wife Adeline; four daughters, Lee Ann
(Victor) Haldy of Benton Harbor, Joan Grinley of St. Joseph,
Jean (Ken) Kibble of Holland, and Robbie (Jim) Grinley of
St. Joseph; a son, John (Debbie) Grinley of Rockhill, CT; 16
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two daughters from a
previous marriage, Brenda Grinley of Lewisburg, TX and
Tanda Jo (Jerry) Rankin of Ortig, WA; a brother, Louis
(Mattie) Grinley of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Ann Fuller
of Dessert Hot Springs, CA, Marion Wilkerson of Santa Ana,
CA, and Harriette Miller of Midland, MI; and many nieces
and nephews. Preceding him are his parents; two brothers,
Samuel L. Grinley and Max Grinley; and one sister, Maxine
Allen.
