Norma's Obituary
Norma Geipel, 79, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord &
Savior, Monday, February 24, 2003 at Lakeland Hospital, St.
Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30
A.M. Thursday at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Stevensville
with Rev. Gerald Schroer & Rev. Ronald Freier officiating.
Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends
may call from 4-8 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family
Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may
be made to St. Paul?s Lutheran Church. Those wishing to

Mrs. Geipel was born December 20, 1923 in Stevensville to
Herman & Selma (Lemke) Siewert. On May 30, 1947 she
married Stanley Geipel in Stevensville. During WWII Norma
was employed at the 1900 Corporation in St. Joseph. She also
worked for Emlong?s for 13 years before working at
Heath-Zenith from where she retired in June 1988 after 20
years of employment. Norma was a member of St. Paul?s
Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and
the Altar Guild. She was always willing to help at church
wherever she was needed.
Mrs. Geipel is survived by her daughter-Sally (Jimmie)
Blalock of Birmingham, AL; her son-Richard (Patti) Geipel
of Livonia, MI; four grandchildren-Holly Geipel of Ann
Arbor; Jimmie (Amy) Blalock, II of Birmingham, AL; Jackie
Blalock of Birmingham; Jaime Blalock of Birmingham; one
great-granddaughter-Samantha Leigh Blalock of Birmingham;
two step grandchildren-Kelly & Karri; two step
great-grandchildren-Rochelle & Shannon; her brother-Oliver
Siewert of Ocala, FL; & seven nieces & nephews-Scott,
Deborah, Denice, Gregory, Stephanie, Joyce, & Jim. She was
preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley on July
1, 1964; and her son Jack Wilson on June 1, 1973.
