Robert's Obituary

Robert C. White, 62, of Sister Lakes, formerly of St. Joseph & Stevensville, died Saturday, August 23, 2003 at home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Sodus. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home with Masonic rites conducted at 8:30 P.M. Memorials may be made to Corvette Coventry of SW Michigan or the Michigan State Police K-9 Unit. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. White was born July 7, 1941 in Muskegon to Robert P. & Edith M. (Woods) White. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in the class of 1959. Bob attended the University of Michigan. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea. On May 17, 1980 he married the former Carol Herman in St. Joseph. Bob was employed for over 20 years as a salesman at several twin city area car dealerships. Currently he was employed by B&B Trucking Inc. of Kalamazoo. Bob was a loving and caring husband & father. He was a member and past master of F&AM St. Joseph Lodge #437; a member of Corvette Coventry of SW Michigan; and an avid Cubs fan. Robert is survived by his wife Carol; his daughter-Kelly (Jeff) Standley of Jackson, MI; his sister-Sharolyn White of Livonia, MI; his mother-in-law-Wanetta Herman of Sodus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law-Dick (Sharon) Herman of Sodus; brother-in-law-Robert Herman of West Helena, Arkansas; and several nieces & nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his father-in-law-Richard Herman, Sr.
