Raymond's Obituary

Raymond A. Patrick, 79, of St. Joseph, went to meet his Lord & Savior Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans in Grand Rapids. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Major Jack Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with military rites conducted by Coloma American Legion #362, Hartford American Legion #93, VFW Post #1137 of Benton Harbor, & VFW Post# 6803 of Watervliet. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army. Friends wishing to share a memory on line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Patrick was born on June 11, 1923 in Benton Harbor to Kenneth & Gustie (Adler) Patrick. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Ray was employed by the City of St. Joseph in the water department, retiring in 1985 after 24 years of service. On April 23, 1988 he married the former Catherine Johnson in Benton Harbor. Ray was a member of The Salvation Army and a life member of VFW Post #1137 in Benton Harbor. Ray is survived by his wife Catherine, a son-Danny (Joyce) Patrick of St. Joseph; a daughter-Joyce (Mike) Musgrove of Coloma; nine grandchildren; & four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife-Marion Patrick in October of 1977; his son-Raymond Patrick, Jr. in July of 1985; his parents; and two sisters Florence Zawilla in 1999 & Florence Kelly in 2002.
