Albert Joseph Ludlam, 74, of Benton Harbor, passed away Monday, July 28, 2003, at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held, at 11am Thursday, July 31, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Dr. Linda A. Beushausen officiating, followed by an Elks Service with the Benton Harbor Lodge #544 officiating. Friends may call on the family from 6-8pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sodus. Memorial donations may be made in Albert?s name to Hospice At Home, or North Berrien Senior Center. Friends wishing to share a memory or sign the guest-book online may do so at www.starks-menchnger.com Albert was born October 28, 1928 in Berrien Springs, to Albert and Isadore (Langtry) Ludlam. He was a graduate of Walkerton Lincoln High School, Walkerton, Ind. He married Patricia L. (Cluster), in 1954 at the Benton Harbor Congregational Church. Albert retired from the Teamsters after twenty-five years of service. He owned the Kaberet Lounge from 1982 to 1989. Albert had many hobbies and interests, including collecting model cars – especially antique models, golf, R.V. travel, keeping up his home and 30 acres, wood cutting, and playing with tractors and equipment. Albert was an avid reader and loved to play cards ? especially Euchre. He was a Life-timer of the Elks #544 – Benton Harbor, the F.O.P.- Coloma, The Good Sam R.V. Club, and the Chapter #17 Hobos. Albert leaves behind Patricia, his loving wife of 49 years; two daughters ? Connie J. (Stanley Smentkowski) Ludlam, and Sheri L. (Thomas) Carpentier. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister ? Pamela Schadler.
