John E. Hoge, 43, of Baroda, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at his home ending a long and courageous battle with diabetes. Friends may call on Friday, August 16, 2002 from 3:00 to 5:00PM and from 7:00 to 9:00PM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 17, at 10:00a.m. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) West Michigan Chapter 4362 Cascade Road SE #109 Grand Rapids Michigan 49546. We invite you to send a condolence message to the family “guestbook” at www.starks-menchinger.com John was born on April 10, 1959 to Raymond and Lela (Stephens) Hoge in St. Joseph, MI. He graduated from Lakeshore High School and Lake Michigan College. John was a journeyman tool and die maker formerly employed with Hanson Mold and American Tool & Die. Johns Greatest loves in life were his nieces and nephews, whom he cherished dearly; fishing, of which there was never a day too hot, or cold, or windy, or rainy; and most recently his beloved pup ?Bear.? He leaves behind to cherish his memory is his father and mother, Raymond and Lela Hoge of Baroda; 2 brothers Robert (Kathy) Hoge of Baroda, and Richard (Julianne) Hoge of Twin Lakes, MI; and a sister Susan Hoge (Dan Clark) of Buchanan. Nieces & Nephews Robert (Barbi), Christopher, Leah, Ian, Jason (Heather) Hoge and Jamie(J.R.) and Katelyn Clark, 6great nieces and nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
