Mable Zech

Mable M. Zech, 84, of St. Joseph, died Saturday, October 12, 2002, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Friends may call on Monday, October 14, 2002, from 3:00 ? 5:00 PM and from 7:00 ? 9:00 PM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2002, 10:30 AM, at the Zion United Church of Christ, Baroda, MI, of which she was a member. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery, Scottdale, MI. Memorial donations may be made to the Zion United Church of Christ. Mrs. Zech was born on February 12, 1918 in Lincoln Township. She married Franklin M. Zech on April 27, 1935, in Benton Harbor. She was active in the Baroda PTA, Band Boosters, Baroda Blossomtime Queen Committee, and taught Sunday School for many years. Mable is survived by her two sons- Lavone (Rose) Zech and William (Louise) Zech both of Berrien Springs; her daughter- Bonnie (Robert) Szygielski of Stevensville; a brother- Dale Brown of Three Oaks; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Franklin M. Zech, parents Elizabeth and Glenn Brown, sisters Nellie Miller and Ardis Bender, brothers Harlen, Gordon, Arden and Don Brown. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
