James's Obituary
James Henry Small, 43, died Sunday, May 13, 2003, at his
home in Davenport, Iowa. He was born on October 19, 1959,
in Saginaw, Michigan, to John and Ellen Small. James
graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1977 and from
Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana in 1983. He was
employed as an environmental scientist at Rock Island
Arsenal facility, Davenport, Iowa.
James is survived by his father John ?Jack? Small of St.
Joseph; sister Jackie Malsom of Newaygo, MI; brother John
(Debbie) Small of St. Joseph; sister Pati Small of St. Joseph;
nephew Zachary Malsom of Grand Rapids, niece Alissa
(Greg) Robinson and great niece Aberdeen Robinson of
Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen
on October 4, 2000.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 P.M.,
Wednesday, May 28, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral
Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call on the
family from 11:00A.M. – 12:00P.M., Wednesday, at the
funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial
donations may be made in memory of James Small to Alpha
Sigma Phi Alumni Association, 2463 N. Mechanicsberg,
