Hazel's Obituary

Hazel L. Wagner, 94, of Stevensville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2002 at Golden Pines Care Center, Stevensville, where she resided. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at St. Paul?s Episcopal Church, 914 Lane Dr., St. Joseph, with Rev. DeLiza Spangler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to St. Paul?s Episcopal Church or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory on line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Wagner was born on July 11, 1907 in Stevensville to Frank & Anna (Christie) Mundt. On March 9, 1926 she married Forrest W. Wagner in South Bend. She and her husband operated a fruit farm at Rocky Weed Rd. & Lincoln Ave. in Stevensville for many years. Later she was employed by Universal Looseleaf as a silk screener before retiring in 1982. Hazel was a member of St. Paul?s Episcopal Church and a long time member of the St. Paul?s Altar Guild. Mrs. Wagner is survived by her son-Jack (Marian) Wagner of Stevensville, her daughter-Donna (Norman) Dorgelo of South Bend; six grandchildren-Scott (Eileen) Wagner, Jeffery (Jolynn) Wagner, Fred (Kathy) Wagner, Jackie (Robert) Mast, Sandra (Gary) Walcott, Kim (Terry) Barinka; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a brother-Orville Mundt of Stevensville. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Forrest on July 23, 1974, two sisters-Lillian Mundt & Edythe Reinhardt, and a brother-Franklyn Mundt.
