Bennie "Lefty" Ingram, 82, of Sodus, MI died on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., with a Celebration of Life Service at 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Cremation will follow. Friends wishing to send a condolence message or sign the Guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Mr. Ingram was born March 20, 1921 in Summit Arkansas to William & Nora (Landers) Ingram. After his father's death, the family moved to Newark, Arkansas where he resided until 1950 when he moved to this area. He was an army veteran of World War II and retired from Auto Specialties in 1981. Mr. Ingram is survived by his wife, Trudy (Washburn) whom he married on December 23, 1974; his children, Jerry (Sarah) Ingram, of Stevensville, Sandra Ingram of St. Joseph, and Donna (Al) Rutledge, of Watervliet; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; step-children, Scott (Kathryn) Findlay of Benton Harbor, Pauline (Dennis) Monte of Riverside; 4 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Ida Burge and Inez Langston of St. Joseph, and Margaret Haney of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James, Russell, and Billy; 2 sisters, Zelda Moxley and Marie Tapp; and step-son Cary-lee Findlay.
