Shirley A. Boyer

Shirley Ann Boyer, 59, loving mother & grandmother, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2002 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with rev. Marla Thurman of New Life Harvest Ministries officiating. Cremation will follow the services with burial at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Watervliet High School and attended Lake Michigan College. She was employed as a waitress in the Benton Harbor & St. Joseph area. Shirley was an avid gardener, bird watcher & NASCAR fan. She loved rainy days & fishing. Shirley is survived by two sons – Michael Caron of Hartford, Mark Boyer of Paw Paw; her daughter – Debra (Carl) Whitaker of Lawton; five grandchildren who knew her as “Nana” – Michael & Steven Colter, Jeremy Caron, Justin & Chelsea Whitaker; two sisters – Pauline (Shelvin) Nichols of Sisters Lakes, Ivoy Pierson of St. Joseph, two brothers – Vaughn (Pat) Watson of Lexington, TN, Elbert Watson of Coloma, and her long time loving friend – Bill Burgess of Hartford.
