Michelle Kruse

ST. JOSEPH – Michelle Kruse, 36, of St. Joseph, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Michelle was born in Sturgis, MI, and moved to St. Joseph at the age of 4. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1984 and then attended Adrian College where she graduated in 1988. She was a member of both her high school and college swimming teams, and a sister of Chi Omega Sorority. After school, Michelle worked at Whirlpool in its technical support department. Michelle is survived by her parents, Bart and Carolyn Kruse and brother, Dan Kruse, of St. Joseph; a sister Heidi(Jason)Roffman of Granger, IN; a niece, Madeleine Roffman; a grandmother, Maxine Kruse; and uncle, Jim(Judi)Kruse of Ann Arbor; cousin, Eric(Robyn)Kruse of Saline; and an uncle, William Becker of Kalamazoo. Friends may call from 2 to 6 pm, Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., in St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10am, Friday, at Lake Michigan Christian Center, 9955 N. Church St., Bridgman, MI. Memorials may be made to the Michelle Kruse Memorial Fund at St. Joseph High School. Michelle’s life was filled with her devotion to her family, her friends, and her church. She was an ardent supporter of St. Joseph Bears athletics and was involved with several charities. Her selfless attitude, optimism and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed.
