Richard ?Dick? Lawrick, 72, of Benton Harbor, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2002 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans in Grand Rapids. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, Twelve Corners Community Church or to Heartland Home Care & Hospice. Friends wishing to sign the guestbook on line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Mr. Lawrick was born on November 23, 1929 in Benton Harbor to Samuel & Florence (Hamlin) Lawrick. Dick graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1947. He served his country in the US Navy on both active duty and in the reserves from 1947 until 1955. On February 17, 1951 Dick married the former Mary Dulko in Benton Harbor. He was employed as a plumber & pipefitter with Local 513 Plumber & Pipefitters Union, retiring fully in 2000 after many years of service. Dick was an avid hunter & fisherman. Mr. Lawrick is survived by his wife Mary; three sons-Rick Lawrick of Benton Harbor, Greg (Susan) Lawrick of Greer, SC; Michael (Pamela) Lawrick of Berrien Springs; two grandsons-Nicholas & Stephen Lawrick; and two brothers-Charles (Delores) Lawrick of St. Joseph, and Don (Phyllis) Lawrick of Stevensville. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his parents and by a sister-Elsie Marshall.
