Ellen Ruth Holmes

Ellen’s life began on May 22, 1914 in Grand Haven, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Ella (Paxon) Holmes. She was retired from Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac after many years of faithful service in the cafeteria. Ellen was a member of the Pleasant View Church of Christ in Cassopolis. She enjoyed reading and her television programs. Ellen’s loving family includes her sister Althea Holmes of Dowagiac and her brother Roger Holmes of Montana. Ellen passed away on Friday June 8, 2012 at Riveridge Manor in Niles. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Lena Bell Wilcox. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
