Dorothy Ruhno Mosimann, 88, of St. Joseph died April 1, 2002 at home. A celebration of life service will be held at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph at 11 AM Wednesday with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church-St. Joseph or Hospice at Home. Friends wishing to share a memory on line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Mosimann was born on July 21, 1913 in St. Joseph to Emil & Amanda (Yeske) Ruhno. Dorothy attended Trinity Lutheran School for grades first through eighth and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1930. She then attended Benton Harbor Business College. Dorothy was employed for many years as a bookkeeper for the St. Joseph Sanitarium and was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church. On November 10, 1945 she married Edward Mosimann in Battle Creek. Ed was the head pastry chef at the Whitcomb Hotel for 35 years. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1992. Dorothy is survived by two sisters – Margaret Ruhno of Stevensville and Evelyn Ruhno of Benton Harbor; two brothers – Marshall (Alice) Ruhno of Lansing, MI and Gene (Lydia) Ruhno of St. Joseph; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband, two brothers – Raymond & Earl Ruhno and her parents preceded her.
