Emil ?Ace? Edelberg, 84, of Millburg, Michigan; went to be with the Lord, May 4, 2002 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Friends may call from 5:00 ? 8:00 PM Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road. St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Saron Lutheran, 510 Main St., St. Joseph, where he was a member. With Burial to follow at Millburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saron Lutheran Church or Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Friends are invited to send a condolence message in the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com. Emil was born October 22,1917, in Germany, to Edward & Mary (Seraphin) Edelberg. He moved to the twin cities area at the age of six. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School in 1938 and attended Notre Dame University. On May 17, 1941 he married Astrid ?Blonde? Lindberg in St. Joseph. He served his country in the US Army on September 29, 1943 and was discharged on November 14,1945. During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, all sports but most of all watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting life. He was a member the House of David Football team, the ?Tornadoes? and played baseball for Remington Rand softball team. Was a life member of DAV 105 and VFW 1137. Survived by four sons David (Tena) Edelberg of Watervliet, Bruce (Jan) Edelberg of Benton Harbor, Doug Edelberg of Benton Harbor, Robert (Jane) Edelberg of Benton Harbor. 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. Two sisters Mary (Arnie) Liedtke of St. Joseph and Martha (Oscar) Zwar of St. Joseph; a sister in law Violet Eddy of Kalamazoo. Preceded in death by his wife Blonde in 1999,parents Edward & Mary Edelberg, a brother Jerry Edelberg and a sister Olga Riley
