Charles Michael Johnson

Charles “Chuck” Johnson, 52, of Benton Harbor died December 11, 2002 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. He was born on May 3, 1950 in Wyandotte, MI, to Gregory and Lucille (Lancaster) Johnson. He attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a B.S. in Business in 1972. On July 19, 1975, he married Carol Andrew in Grosse Ile, MI. For the last 28 years he worked in sales at Brammall Supply Company in Benton Harbor. Chuck enjoyed golfing, bowling, biking, gardening, camping, traveling. and just being outside spending time with family and friends. Heis survived by his wife Carol of Benton Harbor; a son, Dustin Johnson; his mother, Lucille Stead of Trenton, MI; three brothers, Greg (Sue) Johnson of Sylvania, OH, Joe (JoAnn) Johnson of Englewood, FL, and Jim Johnson of Stevensville; a sister, Cathy Swader of Trenton, MI; and a special exchange student, Sascha Eisenschink of Germany; and also eight nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00PM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Sarett Nature Center.
