Donald Paul Bedford

Donald P. Bedford, 75, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2002 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Bedford was born on June 26, 1926 in Elyria, OH to Malcolm & Lola (Burkett) Bedford. He served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. On November 18, 1950 he married Marjorie Forcier in Harbor Beach, Michigan. Don was employed by the City of St. Joseph as the water superintendent, retiring in 1993 after 28 years. He was a life member of both the Harbor Beach Masonic Lodge and the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Berrien Springs American Legion. Don is survived by his daughter-Diane (Kevin) Mach of Berrien Springs; and two grandchildren-Jason Mach & Shawn Mach. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife Marjorie on November 28, 2000.
