Theodore W. Fietz

Theodore W. Fietz, 85, formerly of Watervliet and Bainbridge Township, went to meet his Lord & Savior Monday, January 21, 2002 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor, Cadillac, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at First Assembly of God, 3084 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Lakeview Lutheran Manor. Mr. Fietz was born on September 17, 1916 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada to Henry & Julia (Prost) Fietz. On October 23, 1937 he married the former Eleanor Varnau in Bainbridge Township. For many years he operated a fruit farm in the Keeler area. Ted was employed by Whirlpool Corp. in Benton Harbor for 32 Years before his retirement in 1981. He was a member of First Assembly of God for 47 years and a member of the Bainbridge Grange. Mr. Fietz is survived by three daughters-Beverly (LeRoy) Janz of New Port Richey, FL, Barbara (Robert) Tilmann of Harrietta, MI, Beth Ann (Brad) Stirzinger of New Baltimore, MI; five grandchildren-Pamela (Brad) Smith, Douglas (Pam) Janz, Diane (Bill) Dettmann, Scott (Lori) Price, Brett Stirzinger; five great-grandchildren-Elizabeth Schneider, Stephanie Schneider, Brandon Dettmann, Michael Esch, Caeden Price; two sisters-Augusta Wittmaier-Vancouver, British Columbia, Alma Bandurski-Benton Harbor; two brothers-Adolph (Melba) Fietz-Watervliet, & Walter (Belle) Fietz-Brooklyn, NY. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eleanor on September 8, 1999; a daughter Bonnie Fietz in 1947; a brother Arthur Fietz; and two grandchildren-Patricia Esch & Robert Price. He will be greatly missed by his family & friends.
