Michael Burns

Michael Boyd Burns, 56, of Stevensville, MI. passed away on March 27, 2010. The arrangements are with Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph MI. Michael was born September 2, 1956 in Kalamazoo to Roger and Marilyn (Shell) Burns. Michael graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1971. He attended Western Michigan University, and received his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University. He received his masters degree in economics from Arizona State University. He moved to Ann Arbor where he worked as a computer systems engineer. Michael was a master chef, tennis player, bass fisherman, gardener and sports fan. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Michael is survived by his mother Marilyn of Stevensville; uncle Wayne Shell, aunt Karon Shell; brother Gary (Michelle) Burns of Chicago; three sisters–in–law Christine Braun, Susan Mumm and Gail Nichols; two nephews Steven Burns and Christopher Burns; cousins Jeffrey (Shelly) Shell and Greg (Ann) Shell. He is preceded in death by his father Roger Burns Sr. ; two brothers Roger Burns Jr. and Thomas Burns.
