Ruth's Obituary
Ruth P. McLaughlin, 90, of Benton Harbor, died Sunday, February 17, 2002 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Crystal Springs Cemetery with Rev. Guy
Kiser of Red Arrow General Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-7 PM
at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made
to Hospice at Home or The Salvation Army.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born on August 19, 1911 in Tuckerman, Arkansas to Charlie & Consie
(Luttrell) Mitchell. On December 4, 1931 she married Talmage McLaughlin in Tuckerman, Arkansas.
She was employed by New Products in Benton Harbor, and retired from Paramont Die
Casting-Stevensville in 1973.
Ruth is survived by her son-Hobart (Betty) McLaughlin of Benton Harbor; her daughter-in-law-Clara
McLaughlin of Euless, TX; 13 Grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-Alma Bone of
Littlerock, Arkansas, Bonnie Green of Holtville, California, and Annona Bratton of San Diago,
California. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, her son Emerson Paul McLaughlin in
1996 and two sisters-Myrtle Pierce & Sylvia Kelly.
