Irene L. Hendrix

Irene L. Hendrix, 79, of St. Joseph, Died January 22, 2002 at the Whitcomb Towers in St. Joseph. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dr. Kent Meyer Visitation will be from 9:30 ? 10:30 A.M. Thursday and burial will be at Riverview cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer for breast cancer research or Zion United Church of Christ. Irene was born February 25, 1922 to Emil and Anna (Zich) Pagel in Benton Harbor Michigan. She was married to Leland C. Hendrix of Benton Harbor for 48 years until his death in 1988. Irene was a member of the Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. Irene is survived by her son Ronald (Ann) Hendrix of Naperville, Illinois; grandchildren, Christopher, Grace, and Vanessa; a brother Victor Pagel of Orlando Fla.; Irene is also survived by her beloved companion and dear friend Eugene ?Butch? Heeter. Butch?s daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were all very special to Irene and she considered herself blessed to have been welcome as a member of their family Irene is preceded in death by her parents; a sister Alice Culver; and a brother Harry Pagel
