Albert's Obituary
Albert Herzog, 90, of St. Joseph, went to be with his Lord &
Savior, Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at his home. Funeral
Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday at Starks &
Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St.
Joseph. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends
may call at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Friday. Memorials
may be made to Hospice at Home.
Mr. Herzog was born on September 3, 1911 in Wolynia,
Germany to Ludwig & Emilie (Pelzer) Herzog. He moved to
the twin cities area in 1952 from Germany. He was employed
by Benton Harbor Mallable until 1973 when he retired after
20 years of service. Albert was a member of the German
Church of God on Brown School Road in St. Joseph.
Mr. Herzog is survived by his sons-Horst (Sue) Herzog of
Huron, OH, Helmar Herzog of St. Joseph, Bernard (Susan)
Herzog of Vicksburg, MI; a step-son Helmut Fandrich of St.
Joseph; 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 7 great
grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren; several half
brothers & half sisters in Germany & a special friend-Anna
Stein of St. Joseph. Mr. Herzog was preceded in death by his
first wife-Else Herzog in 1960 and his second wife Martha
(Fandrich) Herzog in 1985.
