Marian Rodell

Marian Ruth Rodell was born to Frank and Hazel Harrington on March 13, 1911. She passed away on April 22 2012 at Oak Crest Foster Care in Niles Michigan. Her life was built around her family and home. She was a marvelous home maker with a warm positive outlook on life. She loved working in her gardens which were a beautiful reflection of her. Being a great cook, she could whip up a meal in a moment’s notice if company dropped in and she often prepared dishes for church and community functions. She and her husband, Vernon enjoyed traveling, often with friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; her sister, Jennie Maher and her son-in-law Carl Davis. Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Jim Garlick of Kalamazoo, her daughter, Janet Davis of Berrien Center, her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Kathy Rodell of Scottville, Michigan, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Jan, Ted, and Libby Oles, her care givers at Oak Crest, are remembered by Marian’s family with grateful hearts. She was a treasured part of our lives. We are saddened by our loss; however, we are so grateful for her long, loving and full life. There will be no visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
