Dorothy Jean Mullen

Dorothy’s life began on December 19, 1924 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Earl and Odessa (Knust) Keyser. She was a 1943 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert A. Mullen on January 18, 1947 at the Federated Church in Dowagiac. Dorothy worked in the Dowagiac Central High School office for many years as a secretary. She was a member of Dowagiac Jr. Arts, the Antlerettes, and involved in the Federated Church’s activities. Her loving family includes her sons Jeffrey Mullen of Okemos, MI, and Scott (Donna) Mullen of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Caitlin, Jillian, Michael, Kelsey, Hayley, and Matthew Mullen and sister Helen Leich of Dowagiac. Dorothy passed away on Saturday April 21, 2012 at Forest Glen Assisted Living. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Michael, sister Vesta Langley and foster sister Marjorie Enos Kimball. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Rob Lowe. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Forest Glen Assisted Living Activity Fund.
